Briana Vallejo
Alpine Coordinator, Live Violence Free

Profile
This is a headshot of Briana Vallejo.

After experiencing domestic violence in her home as a teen, Briana entered into an abusive relationship of her own. She thought she knew what domestic violence was, but after she left her relationship, she realized she had so much more to learn. Now, one of her greatest passions is educating everyone, but particularly youth, about what domestic violence looks like from the inside out, and why survivors don’t leave. Her Tedx Talk titled, “Preventing Teen Dating Violence from the Inside Out” discusses her experiences and passion for prevention. She has been able to share her story in numerous speaking events, and will talk about domestic/sexual violence just about anywhere. Briana has worked for Live Violence Free in Alpine County since 2016, and loves the challenge of working in California’s least populated county. She found her love of policy advocacy through participating in Policy Advocacy Day and making sure even the most rural of counties are heard from and accounted for. Beyond her love for her work – she loves shopping clearance aisles, is married to a firefighter, and welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world in April 2021.
