Last year, California provided $103 million in one-time funding to backfill the federal shortfall and maintain current levels of funding for victim services.
In addition, we established the first-ever California Crime Victims Fund through AB 2432, authored by Asm. Jesse Gabriel and Asm. Reyes. This will take time to build, since funding will be generated by holding corporations criminally accountable for harms committed against Californians. Join us and 200+ other organizations in requesting $176 million every year for the next five years as the fund builds.
