By changing the way we talk about domestic violence, we deepen the understanding of its root causes and how it can be prevented. The Partnership is expanding the broader conversation to include narratives that show that ending domestic violence is possible. We work with journalists to tell accurate and nuanced stories that elevate solutions to domestic violence. When more people know there are solutions, we can start to envision and create a California free from violence.

Our Communications team is available to assist journalists with:

  • Interviews with our staff that are related to our key issue areas
  • Arranging sources who are subject matter experts or who can provide perspectives on domestic violence related issues that are local to your audience and community
  • Connecting you with survivors whose stories and solutions can enhance and elevate your pieces
  • Working with survivors in a trauma-informed manner to preserve their safety and agency
  • Providing data about how many Californians experience domestic violence (according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 3.3 million Californians experience domestic violence every year).
