Building a Client-Centered Housing Services System: Collaborative Efforts to Improve Housing Access for Domestic Violence Survivors
Date: Took place on March 12, 2024

Resource

Hosted by California Partnership to End Domestic Violence, along with founding members of the Los Angeles County Domestic Violence Homeless Services Coalition (DVHSC), this webinar will provide and overview of the cross-sector collaboration, created with the goal of creating a client-centered system that increased access to safe housing and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence and their families.

The webinar will provide an overview of the coalition’s model followed by a Q&A to discuss how the model could be adopted and implemented in other communities.

After eight years of successful work, Amy Turk with Downtown Women’s Center, Laura Lull & Carielle Escalante with Rainbow Services, Jessica Reed with Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, and Mildred Brown, an Advocate with DVHSC, will discuss what it took to get the Coalition off the ground to becoming the largest coalition of its kind in the country,  share the vision of next steps that came out of a recent strategic planning session, and debut a toolkit on how your community can build your own Domestic Violence Homeless Services Coalition.
