Webinar: Intervening with Abusive Partners
This webinar will provide an overview of programs that work with abusive partners and an overview of relevant research on these programs. Topics to be addressed will include common qualities, types, and stereotypes of abusive partners, the role of risk assessment, the origins of programming for abusive partners, the importance of the coordinated community response and consideration of larger societal factors, including but not limited to sexism and privilege, inappropriate interventions with abusive partners such as anger management and couples counseling, common content of programs that work with abusive partners, their effectiveness, and common qualities of more effective programs.
