Domestic Violence/Legal Advocate, Family Assistance Program
Evelyn Magaña is a Legal Advocate at the Family Assistance Program in Victorville, CA. Evelyn’s role as a Legal Advocate entails assisting individuals with restraining orders and other legal advocacy services. Evelyn has experience helping a diverse community with domestic violence, civil harassment, workplace violence, and elderly/dependent adult abuse petitions. Evelyn provides direct services and facilitates restraining order clinics in her area. Evelyn provides continuous support to her clients and walks alongside them through the process. Prior to working as Legal Advocate, she worked with the Family Assistance Program youth drop-in center for at-promise and homeless youth. In addition, Evelyn has participated in Reimagine Lab, focusing on domestic violence prevention. Evelyn has a BA in Sociology, from CSU San Bernardino and is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Guidance at CSU San Bernardino. Through education and experience, she has realized how important it is to focus on early prevention, education, and support for families. Her passion for helping people from all paths of life is what drives her to continue the work that she is doing.
