Religions can have a complex history or patriarchal traditions that have caused harm. Religions can also offer community, support, and healing. How do we hold space for both things? Integrating religion and religious communities in our work is part of being cultural competent – but how can we partners with these communities if we don’t first take a look at what preconceived notions we are holding onto?
