SB 1017 Implementation Webinar: Keeping Survivors Housed

This training will educate its audience on new housing laws that strengthen and expand survivors’ eviction protections and survivors’ rights to terminate their lease early.  After attending this training, the audience should have the knowledge needed to educate their clients on their new housing rights, to assist their clients in asserting their legal rights and to provide their clients appropriate legal referrals.

The Family Violence Appellate Project will provide 1 general MCLE credit for this training.

Presenters:

Tina Rosales, Policy Advocate, Western Center on Law & Poverty: 

Kristina “Tina” Rosales is on Western Center’s housing team, where she works on land use policies, housing production for people with low to no income, landlord/tenant law, homelessness, fair housing, and other housing related issues. Tina previously worked for Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, where she worked on landlord/tenant litigation and homelessness issues. She is a member of the State Bar and a graduate of U.C. Hastings College of the Law.

Taylor Campion, Senior Managing Attorney, Housing & Employment Justice Program: 

Prior to Joining FVAP in late 2018, Taylor worked as a direct services legal aid attorney representing clients with housing and economic rights issues. As a law student at University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law, she worked at Utah’s Disability Law Center advocating for the housing and employment rights of a people with disabilities. In 2014, Taylor returned to California and began working at the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley as a Staff and then Senior Attorney representing clients in various housing claims including, eviction defense, housing subsidy terminations, fair housing discrimination, habitability issues and restraining orders. Also while at the Law Foundation, she represented clients with economic rights issues, including Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Insurance claims and post entitlement issues and employment discrimination claims. In early 2018, Taylor joined Bay Area Legal Aid and represented clients in Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Insurance claims.
