US Department of Education Dear Colleague letter to state school chiefs requesting immediate action to reduce gender-based violence in schools and to help ensure all students are safe. The letter and additional materials were part of the Obama Administration’s efforts to raise awareness of gender-based violence. 

Start Strong: Building Healthy Teen Relationships Policy Change (Futures Without Violence). This website includes guidance on crafting and enacting a school policy. The website includes a model policy, School and District Policies to Increase Student Safety and Improve School Climate: Promote Healthy Relationships and Prevent Teen Dating Violence, and evaluation data about school policy change efforts.

Get Smart. Get Help. Get Safe. Teenage Dating Abuse Training for Specialized Instructional Support Personnel (US Department of Education National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments). This training module prepares school nurses, school counselors and school psychologists to identify and respond appropriately to signs of dating abuse.
