Micah Zimmermaker
Prevention and Education Policy Specialist

Profile | Micah is the Prevention and Education Policy Specialist for the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence.  He comes into this position with 10 years of public health and policy experience with the City of Long Beach and Los Angeles County.  His work has covered teen pregnancy prevention, HIV and STD education, healthy relationship building, and the creation and implementation of tobacco prevention policies.  

He is a graduate of California State University Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology: Inequalities and Diversity.  While a student at CSULA, Micah worked to ensure better access to higher education for undocumented students as part of an on campus student organization.  He also continues to serve as a volunteer Advisor for the YMCA’s statewide Youth and Government Program. This volunteerism led to him being awarded the 2014 Community Ambassador of the Year at the Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA.

Outside of his work, Micah has a strong love for sports/physical activity and exploring the outdoors.
