Marissa Seko
Family Violence Intervention Unit Manager, Family Violence Law Center

Profile

I have 15 years of experience providing nonprofit program coordination and direct services to a diverse client base, with a dedicated focus on serving domestic violence and sexual assault survivors at the Family Violence Law Center in Oakland for the past 9 years. As the Family Violence Intervention Unit Manager, I supervise our crisis intervention and case management specialists for FVLC. In 2016 I was elected as the CA Partnership to End DV’s Bay Area Regional Policy Representative. I am also a former Domestic Violence Fellow for the Women’s Policy Institute during 2014-2015 and co-sponsored SB 592 the Healthy Relationships and Safe Schools Act, which was a bill that sought to require middle schools and high schools in CA to better educate their students on dating abuse prevention and update their school safety plans to include protocols for response to domestic violence and sexual assault on campus.
