Action Alert
Oppose Jeff Sessions’ Confirmation as Attorney General

Post

Judiciary Committee Hearings begin this Tuesday, January 10th, and the Partnership stands with the National Task Force to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (NTF) in opposing Senator Jeff Sessions’ confirmation as Attorney General. NTF recently sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee outlining why Senator Sessions is not qualified to be our top victim advocate. His real or feigned ignorance about sexual assault, his prosecutorial history of differential application of the law, his opposition to the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act in 2013, his promotion of policies that harm immigrant victims and survivors, and his opposition to LGBTQ rights disqualify him from this position. Senator Sessions is not qualified to be our top legal advocate for victims.
