Prevention Peer Network Web Conference

Capacity building event

Training Youth to Create and Produce Public Service Announcements presented by Ashley Solis, Prevention Coordinator, House of Ruth

This webinar will cover how to train youth to create their own short film in order to create awareness around teen dating violence, gender roles and bullying. Participants will learn about our recent project, “The Youth Media Project: Creating Social Change through Film.” This will include an overview of our 10 week Life Skills curriculum, the process of creating a PSA, and how PSA’s can be both a prevention effort and an evaluation tool. Topics include an introduction to sound, video, lighting workshop, storyboarding, filming, editing, and PSA screening within the community. Through our recent Youth Media Project, the students demonstrated their personal growth and knowledge and helped to educate the community at large, while they raised awareness and promoted prevention.
